Third Future Schools Announces Award Of The United States Department Of Education’s CSP Grant To Turn Around 45 Chronically Failing Schools

For Immediate Release

Baton Rouge, LA – Third Future Schools, the leading school turnaround expert committed to the successful turnaround of all D and F-rated schools, is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded the United States Department of Education’s (USDE) Fiscal Year 2024 Expanding Opportunity Through Quality Charter Schools Program (CSP) grant. The grant, totaling $18,459,026.00 over five years, is designed to support the replication and expansion of high-quality charter schools, particularly those serving educationally disadvantaged students.

Third Future Schools’ successful school turnaround record in multiple states provides evidence of much-needed scalability in partnership with states and districts and its ability to consistently and expeditiously improve chronically failing schools in historically underserved communities.

“We are honored to have been selected for the CSP grant by the evaluation team and USDE,” said Chief of Strategy and Innovation Michele Moore at Third Future Schools. “This funding will allow replication of our successful school turnaround model in which students attain, on average, 1.6 years of academic growth annually. We are grateful for the continued support of the USDE and excited to partner with states and districts to identify and secure school turnaround partnerships to support students, educators, and communities in moving campuses in need from D and F ratings in year one.”

With the CPS grant, Third Future will continue replicating whole-scale systemic changes, including ensuring all students have access to a minimum of 185 days of on or above grade level, high-quality instruction from highly effective teachers using a personalized, differentiated model of instruction.
