Colorado Springs, CO — Third Future Schools announces the consolidation of two Colorado Springs public charter schools for the 2023-24 school year. The two schools will come together and operate as one, Coperni 3. The consolidation will bring together the resources, staff, and students from both schools to create a stronger educational experience.
The decision to consolidate the two schools was driven by a need to continue providing students with high-quality instruction and unique extracurricular experiences, while managing decreasing enrollment.
“It is in the best interest of our students and families that we begin the process to merge the two schools,” said Third Future Schools Superintendent, Zach Craddock. “It’s a challenge that many schools are facing, maintaining operations with low enrollment. We are confident this is the best decision for our students. Every single Coperni 2 student will have a seat at Coperni 3.”
All Coperni 2 students will have a guaranteed spot at Coperni 3. School administrators are working with parents of Coperni 2 to make this a seamless transition. Students who have already enrolled at Coperni 2 for the 2023-24 academic year will have their enrollment information automatically transferred to Coperni 3.
As part of the consolidation, school administrators will integrate part of the teaching staff from Coperni 2 to Coperni 3. This will allow the school to leverage the expertise and experience of a larger team of educators. Third Future Schools is offering placement to Coperni 2 teachers within the larger network of schools. Third Future has a total of 10 schools across Colorado, Texas, and Louisiana.
The consolidation is scheduled to take place at the beginning of the 2023/24 school year. Coperni 2 has scheduled informational virtual town hall meetings for families to attend to learn more about the upcoming school merger.
