Third Future Schools Announces Partnership with Beaumont ISD to Turnaround Two Failing School using the Coperni Project Model

For Immediate Release

Beaumont, TX – Third Future Schools announces partnership with Beaumont ISD to serve two chronically failing schools in Beaumont, TX for the 2023-2024 school year. The schools, Smith Middle School and Jones Clark Elementary School, both have been low performing schools and have been in failing status on the TEA accountability ratings. Third Future Schools is using a proven method they call the Coperni Project to turnaround the schools not only in Texas, but across the nation.

”We have to destroy the myth that it takes four or five years to turn around a school,” Mike Miles, Third Future CEO said. ”Our kids don’t have that kind of time.”

Third Future Schools will use their proven innovative model to effectively and efficiently turn around the schools and give Beaumont ISD the option to take back operations of the schools after a three-year period.

A glimpse at the Coperni Project model:

  • Innovative differentiated instructional model
  • Laser focus on high quality instruction
  • On or above grade level instruction every day
  • Increase academic achievement in one year
  • $75,000 average teacher salary at both Smith Middle and Jones-Clark Elementary
  • 100% staffing all year at both campuses
  • F rated campuses will receive a two year accountability pause
  • The districts will have the option to take back operations of the school after a three-year period

Third Future Schools has been part of the TEA 1882 partnership and successfully turned around schools in Odessa, Midland, and Austin. They have debunked the myth that turning around a school takes at least five years. In Odessa, Ector College Prep’s score on the TEA

Report Card jumped from 58 to 89 under the operation of Third Future Schools, making it the highest-performing middle school in Ector County.

By the Year 2030, Third Future Schools will create 100 proof points of a new

education system and inspire transformation of the broader public education system in

order to significantly narrow the achievement gap and prepare students for a Year

2035 workplace and world.
