Third Future Schools Consolidates Three Academy of Advanced Learning Campuses into Two After Elimination of COVID Social Distancing Guidelines

For Immediate Release

Aurora, CO – Third Future Schools announces that they will consolidate their three Academy of Advanced Learning campuses into two campuses—the need for an additional campus is no longer essential to maintain in-person learning in a post-COVID era. This move will also ensure Third Future complies with TABOR reserve fund regulations.

With the elimination of the need for an additional campus, the East campus, currently serving students in grades 5th and 6th, will be restructured. For the upcoming school year, 5th-grade students will join their K-4 peers at the Main Campus, while 6th-grade students will transition to the West Campus, joining 7th and 8th-grade students. The incoming 6th-grade students will have a separate class and lunch schedule to maintain a small learning environment to support the shift to middle school.

Returning to two campuses within two blocks of each other will allow parents with students across multiple grades at the two campuses to streamline pick-ups and drop-offs. Bringing together the campuses will also allow school leadership to support teachers and students more efficiently.

“We are eager for this transition and we feel it will make drop-offs and pick-ups much quicker for families,” said the Academy of Advanced Learning Principal, Damon DiFabio. “Consolidating to two campuses in close proximity will cultivate a greater sense of community for all students and enhance instructional operations.”

This consolidation brings numerous benefits to the school community and parents, as pick-ups and drop-offs will be streamlined for families with students across multiple grade levels. Additionally, merging the campuses will foster a stronger and more cohesive community while enabling school leadership to provide enhanced support to both teachers and students.

The consolidation process is scheduled for this summer, ensuring a smooth transition for all students. The Main Campus and the West Campus will commence classes at the start of the 2024/25 school year.
