Shreveport, LA — Third Future Schools is deeply saddened by the tragic shooting that occurred in Shreveport last night, April 18, 2026. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and the entire Shreveport community during this incredibly devastating time.

We are aware of reports that multiple children lost their lives in this domestic incident. At this time, we have not received confirmation regarding whether any of those affected are students at Linwood Public Charter School. We are working to gather information and remain in close communication with the local authorities and Caddo Parish Public Schools.

Out of an abundance of care and support for our students and staff, both Linwood Public Charter School and Fair Park Middle School will have counselors and mental health professionals at the campuses throughout the week to support our students and staff members. We encourage families to reach out if their children need additional support during this time.

We stand with Caddo Parish Schools and the Shreveport community in mourning and extend our deepest condolences to all those impacted by this heartbreaking loss.

Sincerely,

Third Future Schools
