Mrs. Aguilar

6th Grade Assistant Principal
With 15 years of experience in education, I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at Brentwood Middle School. Throughout my career, I have been committed to fostering student achievement, supporting teachers, and creating a positive, student-centered learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed. Over the past six years, I have proudly served within the Third Future Schools network, where I consistently promoted high expectations and instructional excellence. As an A-rated ELAR teacher for three consecutive years, I helped students achieve more than one year of academic growth on the NWEA assessment through data-driven instruction, purposeful collaboration, and a relentless focus on student success. My experience has also strengthened my commitment to building meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff while supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of every child. I believe effective leadership is rooted in service, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence. I am passionate about empowering teachers, fostering a positive school culture, and partnering with families to ensure all students are challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. I look forward to working alongside the Brentwood Middle School community as we continue to create an environment where every student can thrive.

Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of supporting students across a wide range of roles, including serving as a paraprofessional, a classroom teacher, a Special Education teacher, a district specialist for PBIS, and a campus administrator. My commitment to educational leadership is backed by a strong academic foundation. Driven to continually expand my skills, I later returned to Schreiner University to complete my Principal Administration Certification and earned a Project Management Certificate through UT Austin. I believe that it is important to be a life long learner, and that every student can learn. I look forward to leveraging my experience in instructional leadership and specialized student support to foster an inclusive, high-achieving environment for our 7th graders this year. Outside of my professional life, my husband, Philip, and I have been married for 21 years. Together, we continue to raise our family, while enjoying cooking, baseball, and cheering for the Spurs!

I’m excited to be part of this new chapter at Brentwood and help create a school where students feel challenged, supported, and proud to be. Outside of school, I enjoy staying active, cooking, volunteering in the community, and learning new skills. Most recently, I started teaching myself how to play the piano! I look forward to meeting our students, families, and community and am excited for a great school year!
