Shameka Johnson earned her undergraduate and master’s degree from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Psychology and has 13 years of experience in education. During her eight years in the classroom, her students performed among the highest in the district on state assessments. Shameka served as an instructional coach and assistant principal in Midland ISD, where her leadership was instrumental in the district’s transformation. She continued her education at Rice University where she completed the Executive Education Academy, Leadership Summit program. In addition to her background in the classroom, she has experience as an instructional specialist and assistant principal. Johnson has served as a campus leader and Principal at Sam Houston Colligate Preparatory Elementary. She brings years of leadership experience to her new role and is excited to work with the scholars of Lamar Elementary School.
