To enroll your student at Mendez Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year, please start by filling out this form:

Parents and guardians: We will need copies of the following documents before your registration can be finalized. You may drop off the documents at the school.

Mendez Is an open enrollment school. Enrollment is available to all students without regard to race, creed, color, sex, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, ancestry, disability, socio-economic status or other protected category. MMS also does not screen on academic ability.

Do you charge tuition?

No. Mendez Middle School is a free, public charter school.

When is the first day of school?

The first day of school for the 2023-2024 school year is Wednesday, 2 August 2023.

When do classes start and end?

Classes begin at 8 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.. Please click here to review the Master Schedule.

Which grades do you serve?

For the 2023-2024 school year, our school will serve grades 7-8.

Do you offer before and after care services?

Yes. Our school offers free before and after care services. Hours are from 6:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Instruction will begin at 8:00 a.m., but students are welcome to come early to read, study, or use a computer. Should a parent need to drop their child off as early as 6:30 a.m. (in order to get to work on time, for example), our doors will be open at that time.

Does Mendez have a dress code?

Yes. Students are expected to be dressed neatly, well-groomed and have a general good appearance. Our Dress Code policy can be found in our Parent-Student Handbook on page 11.
