Dr. Cleotha Johnigan

Principal
Dr. Cleotha Johnigan Jr. is a dynamic professional with over ten years of educational leadership experience. His administrative experience has equipped him to ensure that his students have access to a safe, clean, and productive school environment which will enable them to achieve their highest academic and social potential. Johnigan holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. This, along with his professional experience, has empowered him to develop skills in student achievement, data-driven decision making, fiscal management, parental involvement, and alternative education. Additionally, Johnigan has achieved excellent instructional improvements as a result of his implementation of effective systems that support student learning. Through those improvements and the continuous analysis of student data, Johnigan has improved the quality of teaching and learning in his previous roles. Johnigan joins Prescott Academy with the promise of forming a productive partnership with parents. He understands the importance of nourishing a strong bond between home and school. With parental support, Johnigan looks forward to building a safe and positive learning environment for all students.

Kendra Paul

Assistant Principal
Kendra Paul is an accomplished educator with over 21 years of experience in the field of education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and two master’s degrees, Educational Management and Instructional Technology, from the University of Houston-Clearlake. Paul’s teaching career began at Prescott Middle School where she dedicated a year to teaching 6th grade Science. As an educator, Paul has taught various subjects such from PreK through 8th grade levels. In addition to her time as an educator, Paul has assumed several leadership which have developed her into a competent and compassionate administrator. Paul is passionate about providing a holistic education. She firmly believes in catering to the unique needs of each student, allowing them to learn and grow at their own pace. Paul advocates for creating a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment for all children. She looks forward to working with the exceptional teachers, staff, students, and parents who contribute to the Prescott Patriots’ excellence.

Kylon Wishom

Assistant Principal
Kylon Wishom is a two time graduate of Southern University and holds an undergraduate in business management and a master’s in educational leadership. Wishom possesses a diverse background which informs his leadership style and equips him to bring high energy, leadership, coaching, positivity, and culture to Prescott Academy. He served 7 years in the oil and gas industry and 8 years as an educator where he has worked as a teacher, dean, administrative dean, and associate principal. Wishom believes that discipline and culture create a conducive environment for students to learn and grow. His contributions facilitated change which resulted in Geo Prep Mid City moving from an F to a C rating. In a recent role, Wishom was a part of the team at Liberty Magnet High School who achieved the Lighthouse Blue Ribbon award. Wishom is a husband, father of three, and a native of Lutcher, Louisiana. He has cultivated leadership skills through 13 years of coaching experience and has won a state title and a second runner up title as assistant coach. In 2016, Wishom was inducted into the Southern University Track and Field Hall of Fame. Over the last 8 years, Wishom has hosted several community 5k’s and summits to enhance health, wellness, and unity in the community. Wishom is a member of the 100 Black Men of Baton Rouge.

Francine Pewee (Burwell)

Assistant Principal
Francine Pewee joins Prescott Academy as Assistant Principal for grades PreK – 2nd grade. She is a native of Henderson, NC. Her Alma Mater is Shaw University where she completed her undergrad in elementary education. Mrs. Pewee has over 17 years of teaching experience in the elementary, middle, and community college settings. Mrs. Pewee also seeks opportunities to globally help transform the lives of students in other countries. She dedicates her time and teaches abroad every summer. This experience has allowed her to plant a Vocational and Technical School in Monrovia, Liberia. Mrs. Pewee is a seasoned Third Future Schools professional. She has been trained and has executed the Third Future Schools’ model with fidelity. Her assistance in implementing the model resulted in successfully improving student outcomes at a school with an F rating, and increasing it to a B rating in less than 2 years. Mrs. Pewee is a recipient of this year’s Distinguished Teacher and also earned TEA Teacher Incentive Allotment Award. Passionate about what she does, Mrs. Pewee was also appointed as a Team Leader where she lead a group of fellow teachers in lesson planning, and curriculum review in line with the Third Future Model. Mrs. Pewee worked with students in Third Future’s Dyad After School program to help provide them with additional life skills. Mrs. Pewee’s passion for transforming students’ lives is one of many reasons that she is eager and committed to working alongside the hardworking team at Prescott Academy.
