Kylon Wishom

Kylon Wishom is a two time graduate of Southern University and holds an undergraduate in business management and a master’s in educational leadership. Wishom possesses a diverse background which informs his leadership style and equips him to bring high energy, leadership, coaching, positivity, and culture to Prescott Academy. He served 7 years in the oil and gas industry and 8 years as an educator where he has worked as a teacher, dean, administrative dean, and associate principal. Wishom believes that discipline and culture create a conducive environment for students to learn and grow. His contributions facilitated change which resulted in Geo Prep Mid City moving from an F to a C rating. In a recent role, Wishom was a part of the team at Liberty Magnet High School who achieved the Lighthouse Blue Ribbon award. Wishom joined Prescott Academy in the 2023-2024 school year, during his first year the students saw 2.10 years of academic growth. Wishom is a husband, father of three, and a native of Lutcher, Louisiana. He has cultivated leadership skills through 13 years of coaching experience and has won a state title and a second runner up title as assistant coach. In 2016, Wishom was inducted into the Southern University Track and Field Hall of Fame. Over the last 8 years, Wishom has hosted several community 5k’s and summits to enhance health, wellness, and unity in the community. Wishom is a member of the 100 Black Men of Baton Rouge.

Cheryl Rami

Assistant Principal
With 25 years of teaching experience, Cheryl Rami is thrilled to assume the role of Assistant Principal at Prescott Academy. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about helping students foster a love for learning through various aspects of life. Ms. Rami holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in STEM. In her previous roles, Ms. Rami has successfully developed science curriculums, created summer school programs, and served in various leadership capacities, including Assistant Principal, Lead Teacher, Master Teacher, MISE Cohort member, Sally Ride Facilitator, and Teacher of the Year. She has led teams of teachers in professional development initiatives and organized community events to strengthen school-family partnerships. Ms. Rami is committed to creating an engaging and supportive educational environment where every student can thrive. Her dedication to education is rooted in the belief that every child has the potential to achieve greatness when given the right opportunities and encouragement. Ms. Rami is deeply passionate about inspiring students to reach their full potential and is excited to continue this journey in a leadership role serving Prescott Academy students, families, faculty, and staff.
