Keena Olivas is proud to serve as Principal of Sam Houston Elementary and is entering her sixth year with Third Future Schools. After serving as Assistant Principal at Sam Houston for the past two and a half years, she is excited to lead a school community she has grown to know and love. Born and raised in the Permian Basin, Keena is passionate about serving the students and families of Midland and Odessa. She earned her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas Permian Basin and has dedicated her career to helping students achieve at high levels while creating a school environment where children feel supported, challenged, and valued. Throughout her time with Third Future Schools, Keena has served in a variety of leadership roles and has developed a strong belief that every child can succeed when provided with excellent instruction, high expectations, and the right support. She is committed to building on Sam Houston’s strong foundation while continuing to focus on academic growth, student achievement, and opportunities for every child to reach their full potential. As a first-year principal, Keena is honored to lead alongside the dedicated staff at Sam Houston. She believes schools thrive when educators, families, and students work together toward a common goal and is excited to continue strengthening those partnerships throughout the community. Outside of school, Keena enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and staying connected to the community she proudly calls home. She considers it a privilege to serve the students and families of Sam Houston and looks forward to an exciting year of learning, growth, and success.
