Welton Blaylock has been an educational leader for the last eight years. Prior to becoming a principal, he had various leadership roles, including assistant principal, teacher lead, and associate principal in the Ector County Independent School District. At his core, Mr. Blaylock will always be a teacher at heart.
Outside of educational leadership, Mr. Blaylock has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for learning new skills. Mr. Blaylock’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Texas Tech University, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Argosy University, Master of Education in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University, and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University. By pursuing lifelong learning, his goal is to be an example to students and teachers that they should never stop learning.
Mr. Blaylock has three daughters, M’Lissa, A’Leesha, and Mari Lee. He adores being a father and has the same high expectations for his daughters as he does for all students. He is eager to join the amazing Sam Fam community and to lead the successful teachers and students into the 2023-24 school year!
